In collaboration with Het Hefhuis in Rotterdam South
Location:
Rotterdam, NL
Date:
Spring/Summer 2022

For two consecutive weeks I collaborated with fellow students within Spatial Design of WdKA, to create, renovate, and reutilise an installation of Het Hefhuis in Rotterdam South.
By sitting together with different members of the community, and talking to the owners of the space, we analysed their values and needs, seeing what our input and design needed.

By trimming the overgrown greenery, taking care of the wood, and adding colour to the installation, we managed to transform it from an obstacle- to a new meeting spot.
The client was very satisfied with our collaboration, and how we managed to give new life to a structure that had overgrown and lost itself. It is now full of life, and fitting to the bustling community it lies within.
