A model making & research project during my first year at WdKA

This project was one of my first large, and longer term opportunities for me to give a go at- and practice model making in architecture.
The apartment is a singular scale model reference of the studios that are located in The Marconi Towers (Lee Towers) in Rotterdam, NL. The Marconi Towers are former office towers that have been renovated to fit modern studios & apartments.
The concept for this apartment rose from my urge to find a connection between the Marconi Towers and its surroundings (being, Rotterdam & NL). The entire design is through the lense of Peter Zumthor- whom is known for connecting his designs to their surroundings and history .
The result is a minimalist apartment interior with the garden as centre focus. The garden, derived from the shape and outline of the Dubbele Maasmonding in Rotterdam (NL), is the centrepiece and meeting point within the space.
